Lovely explainer video. Question: At 1:22, for the web address, don't you mean "forward slash?" 🙂
I heard (but couldn't see) bullfrogs yesterday in Prince William County. The sound was freaking me out at first because I was obviously very close to them and they were loud! I only know what they were thanks to this video! Yay!
There is a particular sound coming out of the trees in my backyard at night. It accompanies the singing of the Easter Grey Tree frog. If I were to describe the noise, it would be similar to pulling a drinking straw in and out of the lid of a soda cup.
Yes! What is that?? I have been trying to figure that out. I think we are hearing the same thing.
@@Mitsoxfan not sure what it is. But now the tree frogs have stopped singing. Maybe it's because the temperature has dropped.
I want Wallyball international head contact number
I saw here on the field trip
PLEASE HELP settle an ongoing debate with an old friend who (always) knows everything, or at least since I met him 45 years ago,🤣. He claims that it is IMPOSSIBLE that I am hearing a tree frog in Wauwatosa, WI, which is a suburb of Milwaukee. As well, he claims that same impossibly when I go camping the first week every August in Michigan, approximately 50 miles Northeast of Holland. I have never personally seen the frog/toad? in Wauwatosa or in Michigan, but every night, especially in late summer, I hear it! I do not believe that it is any type of insect because, in my humble opinion, as well as reasonable intelligence, well, let's just say it's not. From what "research" I've done, I believe that it is either a "peeper" or a gray tree frog. I don't hear them in Milwaukee proper, but my sister lives in Wauwatosa, and I do hear them around her house, which is approximately 4 - 5 miles from mine. In Michigan, there's a large and lovely chorus of "them" beginning at sunset and lasting at least until midnight. My old friend CLAIMS THAT IT'S IMPOSSIBLE FOR A FROG TO LIVE/THRIVE (BOTH PLACES) simply BECAUSE THEY DO NOT HAVE LARGE PONDS, RIVERS, or LAKES nearby/right there!, AND FROGS MUST HAVE A LARGE BODY OF WATER TO THRIVE, REPRODUCE, ETC. Basically, he says (with a wagging finger, and both feet firmly planted on solid ground) that it's IMPOSSIBLE that I am hearing frogs. IMPOSSIBLE! If I'm incorrect, would anyone know what I've been hearing every summer for the last 25 years? Thank you. Peace.
Earth was created by God 123,456 years ago. Humans are created by God every generation every 100 years as babies raised by God and the previous generations. Frogs are a new Creation in 1975 with Me Natalie Helferty as the Queen of the Earth. Mussolini bothered Me as he directed his Evil Spirit shaping to make Frogs Ugly. I could not get away from Mussolini who is British Mountbatten Family Member who was always disturbing Me as The Queen in Canada with God as Creator. I can just go and Create Frogs not Ugly if I want. It is My Earth as Creator on Earth.
How old are those older cardoon plants at the end of the video? How many years before a cardoon will grow that tall?
Where are you
Stop tallking

0:33 ok Larry Newman, we see you!!! Well done 👍🏽
Helpful
An amazing place!
Congratulations Michael!
Hello from northwest Florida. I started some from seed this year as well as their cousin. I am excited to grow them in my perennial garden beds that I am preparing for them. This was such a wonderful presentation! Thank you!
That's fantastic!
2:47 yup, that's Kawazu.
I just love hearing the spring peepers ❤
'promo sm' 🤔
I love the spring peepers. We call them pinkletinks where I live.

Where is Franconia Park? I live in Franconia and I’ve never seen this park unless you are talking about the former Lee District Park
We have something in our wall/under our house. I’m guessing it’s a frog but I don’t know how to identify 😭
This frog video is the bomb. It's so helpful. Well done!
This has helped me SO much over the last few months. We moved into an area near a marsh and creek. Heard the peepers which were SO loud in March and April. Now its early May and were listening to toads and green frogs at night. Took a walk on one of the trails near me and got to see probably hundreds of toads hopping into the stillwater near the marsh. Thank you for this!!
THIS IS EXACTLY THE FROG V. TOAD SOUND COMPARISON VIDEO I WAS LOOKING FOR! *Ahem..* sorry for yelling. The seasonal timing and additional information in the vid are just perfect. I don’t know why I’m so excited over this except that I’ve been meaning to look up identification sounds recently while walking outside after heavy rain, and noticing suddenly that the twilight sounds were making me feel like it was deep summer rather than spring. The evening chorus was so vibrant! Thank you for helping me nerd a little today. 💌
A fine tribute to an outstanding man and park advocate.
👍
This was very helpful & informative! I came here specifically because we have a gigantic pond/small lake in our backyard. I’m currently sitting outside and heard a frog/toad call, but wondered specifically what it was. It is Feb 15th in South Georgia…It was 💯 the Wood Frog; First call on this playlist!
Haha same! Just got stationed here.
Congratulations Jai on finishing your tour! 👏
Incredible cardoons!

Certified awesome
have you guys considered stocking the lake with grass carp to control the plant population? or do you already have them? They're massive and my absolute favorite fish to catch.
This was enjoyable
I didnt see the frog that hangs out at my house, it looks like the Japanese tree frog, it won't let me send a picture, but I cant identify it by anything but its pictures I've taken, it hangs out on my deck is about the size of a quarter, and green top, brownish patterned below...I can't find it anywhere in the list of frogs of the Mid-Atlantic region...
I just heard a couple piccolo frog right behind my house its 3 am so I thought there was a couple of aliens having a conversation... Creepy
My cat used to kill bullfrogs in the pond behind my house and bring him up to the doorstep. he wasn’t one of those freakish cats that like to swim either. When he came home after a successful frogging expedition, only his paws, and sometimes his lower legs, were wet. He had a very peculiar, crane like, method of hunting in water.
You let your cat kill native species? Cats are the 2nd most cause of native animals dying off.
Can’t wait to visit oak hill and make a travel vlog
Are you ok?
This spring I heard loud noises that went on for hours at night. It sounded like a car with squealing brakes, only it went on for hours instead of just a few seconds. It was speculated to be Spring peepers, but it after hearing this id have to say that what I was hearing was an American Toad(s).
It's the peepers for me.. 😊 but I ended up here trying to find a noise I've been hearing in the woods nearby. It's the fowler I think!!!!!
i call those chorus frogs my geiger counter friends haha
Ooooooh it's the tree frogs 😊 They're so noisy!!! 🤣
cool video, gonna have to try to listen to hear each of these on some late night walks
😢 promosm
Thanks, this was wonderful. I have lived in a country side home during my childhood and I miss hearing the variety of frogs and toads at night. I definitely remember the Spring Peepers, American Toads, Gray Tree Frogs, the Green Frog and the Bullfrog. I'll never forget my first summer there thinking there was cows on the other side of the creek in the middle of the night, 🤣
I am going there
